EQ Keyboard replaces the keyboard mapping of the EverQuest client with the one specified in newtable.key. The file eqgame.exe is altered and saved as eqgame.sav. EQ Keyboard looks for the keymap in eqgame.exe, patch it and then "begins to cast a spell" :). The casting time lasts about 5mn on a Celeron 450. This is for bypassing the EverQuest file checking process.

Copy eqk.exe and newtable.key into you everquest directory. Then launch eqk.exe. The default newtable.key is for french azerty keyboards, if you want another layout, rename your xxxxx.key file into newtable.key. You can create a new .key file and customize your keyboard, simply by editing newtable.key with an hex editor (such as UltraEdit)

Each time the file eqgame.exe is updated you must run EQ Keyboard.

Err... what ? You said "bugs" ?!? There are no bugs in EQ Keyboard ! Well actually... perhaps just one :) On the login page and on the chat server, the keyboard remains US qwerty, sorry.
